Celebrity Entrepreneurs Inspired Entrepreneurship for Brighter Tomorrow
When I was still in grade school, I used to sell yema that my cousin make for extra budget, and every summer, I manage my small sari-sari store in one of our living’s room’s window where I display my items. There is fun in giving change, and it’s exciting to see my money grow.
Well, just recently, Globe myBusiness turns spotlight on celebrity entrepreneurs at the recently concluded Star Bazaar to encourage people with business in mind to take a leap and start it. Show business is a business that everyone dreams about, but not all retains the shine and some may opt to turn their light off for a more private living, hence, even in the midst of their light they turn into entrepreneurs for a more stable source of bread and butter while and after the glitters of fame.
Last August 17, Globe myBusiness, in partnership with Summit Media’s Philippine Entertainment Porta (PEP), gathered celebrity entrepreneurs in a whole day of BazaArtista where they showcased their businesses and also shared success stories with small and medium enterprise (SME) owners. During the said Star Bazaar which is held at SM Megamall Activity Center, the public were encouraged to see for themselves that they could turn their passion into lucrative source of money if only they’ll be open enough to take the risk and have a good partner to start it with, Globe myBusiness.
- Invest your money to make it grow, now. The earlier the better.
Star Bazaar was a free-for-all shopping and learning experience with lots of raffle prizes and on-the-spot games. It featured booths of stars and celebrities of different fields; the event also has a stage for open mic discussions with entrepreneurial experts through Globe myBusiness Academy’s Artistalks.
The event was jampacked of amazing items that range from cookies to dresses and full of shining stars! Among the celebrity entrepreneurs who graced Artistalks are Ner’s Gourmet Tuyo owner Neri Naig-Miranda, Kko Kko Korean Chicken brainchild Grace Lee, Pedro ‘N Coi owner and beauty queen Shamcey Supsup-Lee and Filipino restaurant Salu owner Harlene Bautista. They shared their take on the importance of honest and trustful partnerships, balancing time for multiple careers with their business on the side and how to start ventures based on their own experience as celebrity entrepreneurs.
- Use the power of Social Networking Sites. Create a page and be active on Social Media.
Other stars include Janice de Belen, LJ Moreno, Marlo Mortel, Almira Muhlach, RR Enriquez, Diana Zubiri, TInTin Bersola, Bianca Lapus, and Candy Pangilinan who also showcased their businesses, enriching shoppers’ experience with a variety of products: from sweet confections to savory dishes to workout apparel and fashion accessories. Globe myBusiness offers a wide range of digital tools and solutions to micro, small, and medium-size enterprises. This is in support of UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 8 which promotes sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth through entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation.
- Know your unique business strength and use it to your advantage.

On the other hand, GCash, the leading mobile money service provider in the country, equipped the celebrity booths with QR codes which provided both merchants and consumers with hassle-free and secure cashless transactions. Through GCash Scan to Pay, consumers were able to use their GCash account to pay for their purchases by simply scanning the QR codes with their GCash App, eliminating the need to bring cash or wait for change.
